Annalisa Stroppa began studying classic piano at an early age and later completed her studies in Liberal Arts. She received a master degree in Education Sciences and she graduated in singing with honors at the Conservatory of Brescia.
She was a finalist at the "XLVII F.Vinas Competition" in Barcelona and a winner of several competitions including "TIM", "Magda Olivero", "Iris Adami Corradetti", "Comunità Europea A.Belli in Spoleto", and "Riccardo Zandonai", where she won also three special prizes.
Among her numerous engagements, she participated in "Operalia 2009 Concert Gala" in Pécs (Hungary) singing a duet with Placido Domingo. Ms. Stroppa also sang with Andrea Bocelli in the Teatro del Silenzio, Teatro Grande of Brescia and Sala Nervi in the Vatican. She participated in concert galas at the Shostakovich Grand Hall of the Philharmonic in Saint Petersburg, the National Concert Hall in Tai Pei and at the Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.
In the 2009/10 season she performed in operas such as Otello, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, La Traviata and Rigoletto and she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the a production of La Betulia Liberata by W.A.Mozart under the baton of Riccardo Muti, which was reprised in June at the 2010 Ravenna Festival.
During the 2010/2011 season she performed the Tragédie de Carmen by G. Bizet/M.Constant in Perugia; the title role of Carmen by Bizet (Carmen) at the Teatro Sociale of Trento and Mercedes in the same opera at Teatro of Rovigo and at the Teatro San Carlo of Napoli; Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice (Orfeo) with the Orchestra Sinfonica of Bari under the baton of Bruno Aprea; Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Mozart's Requiem at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo; I Due Figaro (Cherubino) at the Salzburg Festival and at the Ravenna Festival under the baton of Riccardo Muti recorded for Ducale Music.
She opened the 2011/2012 season performing Romeo and Juliette(Stéphano) at the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza, later reprised at the Teatro Comunale of Bolzano and at the Teatro Luciano Pavarotti of Modena, followed by Il Marito Disperato (Dorina) at the Teatro San Carlo of Napoli under Christophe Rousset, and La Canterina (Apollonia) at the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Romeo and Juliette (Stéphano) at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genova under the baton of Fabio Luisi recorded cd and dvd for Universal Records and Carmen (Mercedes) at the Teatro Regio in Torino. In 2012, she also sang in I due Figaro as Cherubino at the Teatro Real de Madrid and at the Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, still under the direction of Maestro Muti.
Ms. Stroppa made her debut as Rosina in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro dell'Opera of Rome, under the baton of Bruno Campanella and she also played Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari conducted by Hubert Soudant.
In the 2012/13 season she played the role of Cherubino at Municipale of Piacenza and Comunale of Modena. She debuted Fenena in Nabucco at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo under Renato Palumbo. Afterwards she was again Cherubino at the Opéra de Lausanne conducted by Theodor Guschlbauer and Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Terme di Caracalla (Rome). She made her USA debut singing Berlioz's Les Nuits d'été with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jaap Van Zweden.
In the 2013/2014 season the Italian mezzo-soprano was Rosina at the Berlin Deutsche Oper and Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Theatre of Sassari. She opened the year 2014 singing the title role in Carmen at the Opera of Limoges (France). She was Fenena in Nabucco at the Maggio Musicale in Florence and Lisetta in Il mondo della luna at Monte-Carlo Opéra, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Opèra of Lausanne and at Terme di Caracalla with Opera of Rome. She made her debut as Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo under the direction of Will Humburg and she was Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette at Arena of Verona.
The Brescia native singer opened the 2014/2015 season as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Israeli Opera of Tel Aviv conducted by Omer Welber, sang the part of Adalgisa in Norma at Liceu of Barcelona under the baton of Renato Palumbo, a production that she resumed at the teatro Calderon of Valladolid.
Annalisa Stroppa sang Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana at Großes Festpielhaus in Salzburg, conducted by Christian Thieleman (Dvd, Blu-ray recording), performed Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Filarmonico of Verona under the baton of Stefano Montanari and debuted the role of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel at Teatro Regio of Turin directed by Pinchas Steinberg. She has made her debut at Teatro alla Scala of Milan as Emilia in Rossini's Otello.
In the 2015/2016 season she debuted at the Opéra National of Paris with Madama Butterfly (Suzuki) and at the Wiener Staatsoper in Così fan tutte (Dorabella). She returned to the Teatro alla Scala with Rigoletto (Maddalena) and after that sang Benvenuto Cellini (Ascanio) at the Liceu of Barcelona. She makes her debut in the title role of La Cenerentola at the Israeli Opera of Tel Aviv, sang Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the ABAO of Bilbao and took part in I Puritani (Enrichetta) at Teatro Real in Madrid (Dvd, Blu-ray recording). She concluded the 15/16 season with her debut as Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the "Castello Festival 2016" of Padua and at the "Bassano Opera Festival" and singing Dorabella at the Opéra de Rouen (France) and Rosina at the Semperoper Dresden (Germany).
She was among the leading singers chosen for the prestigious opening of the 2016/2017 season of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the new production of Madama Butterfly (original version of 1904) byAlvis Hermanis, singing the role of Suzuki under the baton of Riccardo Chailly.
After that she returned to the Teatro alla Scala as Meg in Falstaff with Zubin Mehta, directed by Damiano Michieletto; the same production was remaked at the Opera House Expo 2017 in Astana (Kazakistan); then she played Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Monte-Carlo's Opera.
After being Maddalena in the new Rigoletto set-up at Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, she makes her debut at Bregenzer Festspiele in Carmen (title role) in the new production by Kasper Holten, production resumed also the next year (2018).
She closes the 2016/2017 season playing Fenena in Nabucco at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan under the baton of Nello Santi and with the direction of Daniele Abbado.
She was again among the main singers for the opening season 2017/2018 of Milano's Teatro alla Scala in Andrea Chenier, singing the role of Bersi under the baton of Riccardo Chailly and with the direction of Mario Martone.
Then she played the role of Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa and at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires and of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Semperoper Dresden.
She made her debut as Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena at theTeatro Filarmonico of Verona and as Siebel in Faust at the Teatro Real of Madrid and she sang Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Turin's Teatro Regio, Carmen in the homonymous opera at the Teatro Pérez Galdós of Las Palmas, Fenena in Nabucco and Angelina in La Cenerentola at Padua's Teatro Verdi.
She opened 2019 playing Adalgisa in Norma at the Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden of Berlin.
Then she made her debut in the role of Niklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and of Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Théâtre Antique in Orange and reinterpreted Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Dorabella in Così fan tutte at the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas, Fenena in Nabucco at the Festival Verdiano in Parma and Angelina in La Cenerentola at the Staatsoper Hamburg.
She sang Verdi's Requiem at the Ljubljana Festival conducted by Placido Domingo and, then, at the Grand Hall, St. Petersburg Academica Philharmonia and at the Philarmonie Berlin under the direction of Teodor Currentzis, on the latter occasion with the Berliner Philarmoniker.
She played Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and at the Budapesti Nyári Fesztivál in Budapest, Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and Carmen in the homonymous opera at the Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca and at the Maifestspiele in Wiesbaden.
She sang Donizetti's Requiem on the occasion of the commemoration of the victims of Covid-19 at the Monumental Cemetery in Bergamo and then she took part in the Il Cuore Italiano della Musica gala at the Verona Arena and finally was the only solo voice at the 57th International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo.
She closed 2020 interpreting Irene in Belisario at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo and the title’s role in Carmen’s Recital at the Teatro Grande of Brescia.
In 2021 she made her debut as Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino of Florence.
She has also reinterpreted the roles of Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Fenena in Nabucco at the Arena of Verona, Carmen in the homonymous opera at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and sung, conducted by Placido Domingo, Verdi's Requiem at the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza.
She opened 2022 singing in the New Year's Concert at the Teatro Verdi in Padua, and then reinterpreted the role of Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro Regio in Turin.
In the coming months she will take part in the show 7 Deaths of Maria Callas at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, conducted by Marina Abramovic, after which she will be Nickalusse in Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Bregenzer Festspiele and Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
She will close the year with a double debut, as Laura in La Gioconda at the Teatro Filarmonico of Verona and Lèonor de Guzman in La Favorite during the Donizetti Festival at the homonymous theater in Bergamo.
